EU Ambassador to Georgia visits Imereti to highlight EU support to region

On 23 June, Ambassador of the European Union to Georgia, Carl Hartzell, visited Imereti to highlight EU support to this Georgian region.

In Imereti, Ambassador Hartzell held a meeting with the Tskaltubo Local Action Group (LAG) established in 2020 with EU support. LAG Tskaltubo, consisting of 230 members, has developed a long-term Local Development Strategy and carried out two rounds of EU-funded grant competition, resulting in the funding of 20 initiatives in agriculture, tourism, social issues, culture, education, sport and youth.

Ambassador Hartzell also met representatives of initiatives that received EU-funding. They presented their products, such as honey, wine, artisan bread, batik handicrafts, etc.

Tskaltubo LAG is one of twelve EU-supported LAGs in Georgia.
