Commissioner Hahn visits Moldova to reiterate EU’s firm commitment to support country

EU Budget and Administration Commissioner Johannes Hahn visited Moldova today to reiterate the EU’s firm commitment to support the country’s efforts to overcome the current crisis.

Johannes Hahn met with Maia Sandu, President of Moldova, to discuss recent developments in the region.

“Thanked for all the EU assistance and confirmed our readiness to continue on the EU integration path,” wrote Maia Sandu on Twitter following the meeting.

The Commissioner also discussed with Moldovan Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita the difficult macroeconomic situation in the country and uncertainties due to the geopolitical situation.

In Chisinau, he also met Young European Ambassadors from Moldova. “Good to see youth from Moldova joining the network Young European Ambassadors. The youth is crucial for raising awareness of the many opportunities offered by the EU cooperation with its Eastern partners!” the Commissioner wrote on Twitter.
