Borrell and Várhelyi travel to Moldova to underscore EU support


EU High Representative Josep Borrell will and European Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Oliver Várhelyi will travel to the Republic of Moldova on 2 and 3 March to underscore the European Union’s full support to the country in the context of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. 

Borrell and Várhelyi will meet with President Maia Sandu, with Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița and Deputy Prime Minister/Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Nicu Popescu. 

They will also visit a refugee centre hosting Ukrainian refugees. The meeting with President Sandu will be followed by a joint press conference.
