Armenia: EU to support eco-clubs in 8 schools in Yerevan

On 17 November, the Head of the Cooperation Section at the EU Delegation to Armenia Frank Hess awarded certificates of grants to selected eight schools in Yerevan. Thanks to these grants, the schools will establish and run eco-clubs, which will provide non-formal environmental education to their students.

The certificates were awarded during the ‘Towards cleaner and greener cities’ international conference that took place in Yerevan. The conference was organised as part of the EU-funded project ‘Capital Cities Collaborating on common challenges in Hazardous Waste Management – Yerevan, Warsaw, Tirana’. The project aims at strengthening urban governance in hazardous waste management based on peer learning, greater citizens’ participation and mainstreaming international best practices.
