Anti-Corruption court simulation organised in Kyiv with EU support

In early December, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Ukraine in partnership with the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU), the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (NAPC) and the EU Anti-Corruption Initiative in Ukraine (EUACI) organised an anti-corruption court simulation for students, with EU financial support.

Ten teams (40 students in total) took part in the ‘All-Ukrainian Anti-Corruption Moot Court 2.0’ in Kyiv. They had to conduct a search and take part in a trial to appeal against the dismissal of a whistleblower.

The team from Poltava Law Institute of the Yaroslav the Wise National Law University won the competition. Its members received the grand prize of an internship at the NABU’s Main Department of Detectives. The second place team was awarded with an internship at the EUACI office, while the third place team will be able to take part in the NABU Summer Anti-Corruption School 2023.

The All-Ukrainian Anti-Corruption Moot Court is the first educational project in Ukraine aimed at raising youth awareness of corruption issues and improving theoretical knowledge and practical skills in criminal law, the corruption investigation process and court cases.
