2021 Covenant of Mayors Awards – apply by 3 September

The EU Covenant of Mayors for Climate & Energy, the world’s largest movement for local climate and energy actions, has launched a process of nomination for its ‘City in the Spotlight Awards’.

The call is open to all Covenant of Mayors – Europe signatories, including from the Eastern Partnership. To take part, applicants need to fill in the online form. The application must include a description of the overall energy and climate policies, and the actions undertaken to implement them. The applicants are also encouraged to add pictures, infographics, videos, short documents, etc.

Winners will be announced on 7 October 2021, at the Covenant of Mayors – Europe Ceremony. They will have an interview featured in the Covenant of Mayors newsletter, dedicated articles on the website, and receive a year-long extra visibility in the Covenant of Mayors communications.

The 2021 Covenant of Mayors ‘City in the Spotlight Awards’ will reward three signatories – one in each category: small-sized signatory (<10,000 inhabitants), medium-sized signatory (10,000- 250,000 inhabitants), and large-sized signatory (>250,000 inhabitants).

The deadline for applications is 3 September.
