Human Rights Coffee Truck event: Talking about human rights over a cup of coffee

Young European Ambassadors from Armenia organised an event ahead of the International Human Rights Day, in continuation of the previous action, that took place at the country’s first inclusive cafe and bakery in Gyumri.

“We offer free coffee or tea to young people in special cups with a QR code and messages related to human rights. By scanning the QR code, they can see the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. In other words, we tell people about their rights offering free warm drinks,” says Areg Galoyan, Young European Ambassador from Armenia.

The Coffee Truck itself is successful business project, supported by the EU in the framework of the ‘iMigrant Armenia’ project. The aim of the project is to support migrant workers and their families to use their potential and create innovative business models in their own communities.

“We want to show that anyone, who has a wish, can create their own business, even a small one,” says Ani Khachatryan, coordinator of the Young European Ambassadors initiative.

The Young European Ambassadors initiative aims to foster cooperation and sustainable links between young people and youth organisations from the EU and its Eastern partner countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine.

It promotes exchange of ideas and information about the EU, as well as youth engagement in promotional activities.
