Raising awareness and highlighting impact: EU Neighbours East launched for four more years

A new phase of EU Neighbours East kicked off at the beginning of 2021, aiming to improve perceptions of the European Union in the six Eastern partner countries – Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine – while raising awareness of the impacts and tangible benefits of EU cooperation across the Eastern Partnership.

The EU’s new four-year regional communication programme for the Eastern Neighbourhood is funded by the European Commission and will carry forward the EU Neighbours East brand.

The programme will be built around around rolling communication campaigns, raising awareness and improving understanding on the ground, as well as through online platforms including the EU Neighbours East website and social media channels.

Building on the achievements of the previous project, it will also work to enhance dialogue, further develop its network of Young European Ambassadors, and work with local media to maximise public outreach.

The EU Neighbours East project complements and supports the communication work of EU Delegations in the partner countries, and works under the guidance of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, and the EU External Action Service.

The project is implemented by a B&S Europe-led consortium.
