Moldova hands back second part of EU questionnaire

On 13 May, Moldovan Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita handed over the second part of the EU questionnaire to the European Union Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova Janis  Mažeiks.

33 chapters in 7 volumes and more than 2,800 pages of collective work. Grateful to everyone who contributed – amazing team work and dedication! Moldova’s future is in the EU,” said Gavrilita.

These answers to the Questionnaire will help in the preparation of the European Commission’s Opinion on Moldova’s application for EU Membership, said Ambassador Mažeiks. “Huge work has been invested in preparing the answers, huge work lies ahead of us.

Today, EU High Representative Josep Borrell discussed EU enlargement with Moldovan Foreign Minister Nicu Popescu on the margins of the G7 meeting.

“Work on the Opinion is ongoing. Moldova is part of the European family,” wrote Borrell on Twitter, adding that the EU would continue to support Moldova’s resilience and help face challenges related to Russia’s aggression.
