French EU Presidency organises concert in support of Ukraine

Today, 15 April 2022, a special concert in support of Ukraine will be held by the National Library of France, with the philharmonic orchestra and choirs of Radio France, as part of the library’s partnership with France Musique.

This concert is organised as part of the European music season of the French Presidency of the Council of the EU, with the support of the French Ministry of Culture. The proceeds will go towards the preservation and protection of Ukraine’s cultural heritage.

The programme offers the opportunity to discover the work of Ukrainian composer Fedir Yakimenko (1876-1945), whose manuscripts are conserved in the archives of the Music Department. Before the concert, the handwritten manuscripts of the works on the programme will be presented by a librarian in the foyer of the auditorium.
