European Training Foundation: weekly analysis on how invasion impacts human capital and education in Ukraine

A total of 1,972 education facilities (6.3% of the total) have been damaged or destroyed since the beginning of Russia’s aggression in Ukraine, says a new report by the European Training Foundation (ETF). The direct damage to education infrastructure is estimated at $2.9 billion.

The ETF is analysing the impact of the war on human capital and education in Ukraine on a weekly basis, monitoring and collecting data from a wide range of sources. These reports provide insight into how the situation is developing. It also reports on what the future may hold in terms of reconstruction costs, commercial sector recovery and the long-term impact on education. 

“Our aim is to track and review the impact of the invasion on the movement of people, the consequences for workers and the labour market, and the effect on schools and education,” says the ETF.
