Drug prevention projects involving young people from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine can apply for a chance to win a €5,000 award under the European Drug Prevention Prize 2021. The deadline for applications is 15 January.

The European Drug Prevention Prize is organised by the Pompidou Group of the Council of Europe, and rewards outstanding drug prevention projects that have successfully involved young people in their design, implementation and evaluation.

Up to three projects will receive an award, consisting of a trophy, a diploma and 5,000 to support implementation of their project. The initiative, launched in 2004, aims to increase awareness of the importance of active youth participation in reducing drug-related harm and creating healthier citizens and communities across Europe. It also seeks to recognise quality drug prevention that is innovative and managed by young people, for young people.

The Pompidou Group provides a forum for policy-makers, professionals and researchers to exchange ideas, experiences and information on the whole range of drug misuse and trafficking problems.
