European commission proposes new macro-financial assistance for Ukraine of up to €9 billion in 2022


Today, the President of the European Commision Ursula von der Leyen proposed a new macro-financial assistance for Ukraine of up to €9 billion in 2022.

We will continue to be by Ukraine’s side – throughout this war and when they start rebuilding,” said von der Leyen.

Ursula von der Leyen also proposed to create a reconstruction platform led jointly by Ukraine and the European Commission and bringing together EU Member States, international donors and financial institutions and other partners.

Reconstruction should combine investment with reforms. In time it will help Ukraine on its European path,” said the President.
