European Commission aims to deliver opinion on Ukraine EU membership in June


The European Commission will aim to deliver its opinion on EU membership for Ukraine next month, President Ursula von der Leyen said today.

Von der Leyen tweeted that she had spoken with Ukraine’s president Volodymyr Zelenskiy to discuss his country’s “European pathway”.

She added that she was “looking forward to receiving the answers to the EU membership questionnaire”, and said the European Commission would “aim to deliver its opinion in June”.
