EU4Youth: award ceremony for winners of journalist and bloggers competition in Ukraine

On 24 June 2021, the EU4Youth – Unlocking the potential of young social entrepreneurs in Moldova and Ukraine project held an award ceremony for the winners of the “Reveal your heroes to the world” competition for journalists and bloggers in Ukraine.

A total of 103 applications were submitted for the competition. An independent professional jury selected 16 publications, which were awarded six main prizes and ten encouraging prizes.

Tatiana Vygovskaia-Kamenko, the project coordinator in Ukraine, emphasised that social entrepreneurship has existed in Ukraine for a long time. However, social enterprises do not receive adequate support and recognition from the state or society – hence the importance of highlighting social entrepreneurship and successful social entrepreneurs.

During the award ceremony, all winners told the story of their social entrepreneurship heroes, shared the emotions, successes, and challenges they faced and explained the important conclusions and initiatives on how to support social entrepreneurs in the future.

Furthermore, not the journalists and bloggers are not the only ones who will benefit from the competition, all the heroes of their publications – these inspiring social entrepreneurs – will also get a certificate of recognition planned in July-August 2021.
