EU Young European Ambassadors condemn war and express solidarity with Ukraine

The Young European Ambassadors (YEAs) in the European Union have issued a statement in support of their Ukrainian colleagues and firmly condemning Russia’s aggression.

The statement reads:

“We support Ukraine’s territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence.

We firmly condemn Russia’s illegal and unprovoked aggression.

We advocate for an immediate end of all forms of violence, for the EU Member States to keep providing the necessary support to refugees, the internally displaced and civilian population, and ensure an efficient peace-building process with a long term perspective.

We invite our fellow citizens to stand with us in solidarity with Ukrainian people, and support them in any possible way.”

The Young European Ambassadors added they were going to protests, sharing factual information, gathering resources to send to those in need, and pushing their own governments to do more, and urged YEAs, other young people and youth networks to share the statement in support of their peers.

The Young European Ambassadors Initiative initiative is a non-political, voluntary, vibrant network connecting and building bridges of friendship among young people from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova, Ukraine and the EU Member States and the United Kingdom.

The aim of the network is to raise awareness about the EU’s cooperation with its Eastern partner countries, showcase the tangible results of this cooperation, contribute to policy dialogue on various topics, help increase civic activism and work together for a better future.
