EU supports gender equality in Armenia

The EU4GenderEquality Reform Helpdesk recently presented the Country Gender Profile it has developed for Armenia at an online meeting with the EU Delegation to Armenia and Armenian government representatives

The Country Gender Profile covers the main areas of the EU Gender Action Plan III. The goal of the assessment is to provide comprehensive information and recommendations regarding the development of the Country Level Implementation Plan in line with the EU Gender Action Plan.

The meeting also provided an opportunity for an exchange of ideas on areas where the Helpdesk may be useful for the Government of Armenia. Deputy Ministers from the Ministries of Justice, Labour and Social Affairs expressed their interest in learning more about the study results and continuing the discussions in the format of a working group.

The EU-funded EU4Gender Equality Reform Helpdesk, provides gender analysis and expert advice on gender equality to the six Eastern partner countries. The aim of the project is to increase gender equality through the use of gender analysis in decision-making, reforms, policies and programmes.
