EU High Representative appoints new Managing Director for Russia, Eastern partnership, Central Asia, Regional cooperation and OSCE


On 22 January, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell announced a series of senior appointments in the European External Action Service (EEAS). Among them is Michael Siebert, who becomes Managing Director for Russia, Eastern partnership, Central Asia, Regional cooperation and OSCE.

Michael Siebert is currently Director for Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia in the Federal Foreign Office of the Federal Republic of Germany. Previously he was Head of Department for the Southern Caucasus and Central Asia. Michael Siebert will take up his duties at the EEAS shortly.
