EU helps assess performance of anti-corruption agencies in Ukraine

The EU Anti-Corruption Initiative in Ukraine (EUACI) and ‘Evropeyska Pravda’ have prepared a joint publication to discuss the results achieved since the establishment of the new anti-corruption system in Ukraine.

Following the Revolution of Dignity in Ukraine in 2014, several anti-corruption agencies were established, namely: the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP), the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU), the Specialised Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s office (SAPO), the High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) and the Asset Tracing and Management Agency (ARMA). Their activities and impact are described in a comprehensive manner in the publication.

“Ensuring the functioning and independence of anti-corruption agencies has been … an important factor of Ukraine’s drive towards the European Union, the country’s relations with international partners in general, and a trigger of the external financial assistance and political support,” the publication says.
