EU-funded project in Azerbaijan trains 250 fruit farmers


More than 250 Azerbaijani farmers have been trained in the Lankaran-Astara Economic Region as part of an EU-funded, UNDP-implemented project in Azerbaijan.

The five-day theoretical and practical training focused on pruning citrus orchards. The training was conducted by experts invited by the project from the Turkish Institute of Agricultural Research of the Western Mediterranean.

The project ‘Promoting competitiveness, collaboration, and modernisation in the Fruit and Vegetable Sector in Lankaran-Astara Economic Region’ operates within the ‘EU for Lankaran’ programme.
