EU condemns Russian attack on Mariupol Field Office office of EU Advisory Mission to Ukraine

The EU has strongly condemned the Russian attack on the Mariupol Field Office of the EU Advisory Mission to Ukraine (EUAM), a press release by the European External Action Service (EEAS) said on 29 March.

The Mission has obtained credible information that the premises of its Mariupol Field Office were recently hit by Russian shelling. The EUAM office and equipment sustained major damage. No Mission members or contractors were injured.

The EEAS says the EU condemns any attack targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure. “We demand Russia to cease its military offensive immediately and unconditionally withdraw all forces and military equipment from the entire territory of Ukraine, as called for by UN General Assembly resolutions and ordered by the International Court of Justice,” says the press release.

At the same time, EUAM continues its activities in Lviv. The mission has provided Lviv police, its canine unit, and two local children’s hospitals with necessary medicine, food rations, hygiene products, child clothes, and medical kits.
