With the assistance of the European Union and the World Health Organization, the National Vaccine Depot in Moldova has been upgraded to international quality, efficiency and safety standards. The warehouse operations were launched at the end of last week.
In addition, the latest generation of vehicles and freezers, generators and IT equipment were purchased, as well as eight cold rooms – three for the national warehouse and five for warehouses located in Edinet, Balti, Comrat, Cahul and Tiraspol districts.
The national vaccine warehouse is a strategic point for national public health security. At the same time, it serves as a key element in preventing infectious diseases and maintaining epidemiological well-being by ensuring the availability of safe and reliable vaccines for children and adults.
The total cost of the equipment for the national vaccine storage, distribution and monitoring system, as well as the renovation and modernisation work, is approximately €776,000.
