COVAX: new shipment of vaccines arrives in Moldova

On 19 March, a new batch of COVID-19 vaccines arrived in Chisinau, Moldova.

A total of 24,570 doses of BioNTech-Pfizer vaccine were delivered via the COVAX platform.

The EU and Team Europe are the largest contributors to the COVAX initiative, which aims to provide safe vaccines to low- and middle-income countries. Team Europe continues to support the Republic of Moldova and its citizens in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Earlier this month, Moldova received the first vaccines delivery via COVAX and a new batch of medical equipment, including oxygen concentrators, pulse oximeters, and ventilators, supported by the EU and the WHO.
