Climate Innovation Vouchers: six Ukrainian businesses to receive €240,000 from EU and EBRD


The European Union and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development have chosen the Climate Innovation Vouchers programme winners to support them with grant funding for promoting greenhouse gas reduction and improving energy-efficient technologies. The first bulk of the vouchers’ beneficiaries were announced on 16 September, at the greencubator’s  Climate Innovation Vouchers (CIV) award ceremony.

Six companies won grant funding supporting the development and improvement of technologies reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and improving energy consumption in Ukraine. Businesses and consultancies from Kyiv, Lviv, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia will receive about €240,000 in total to implement innovations ranging from the production of recycled plastic panels to the development of the climate control and automation system for greenhouses, from the development of electric agri-drones to increasing the efficiency of biogas reactor. The vouchers will provide grant funding for engineering services, software development and testing, intellectual property protection, Ukrainian and international certification, etc.

The current Climate Innovation Vouchers phase allocates €1 million in grants for Ukrainian companies. Small and medium-sized businesses can receive up to €50,000 each to create their eco-technologies or integrate environmentally friendly innovative solutions into their business.
