Azerbaijan: support to CSO skills in writing project proposals

A two-month training programme on writing grant proposals and designing monitoring frameworks took part in Azerbaijan, as a part of the project ‘Developing innovation-driven and sustainable civil society in Azerbaijan’, funded by the EU and implemented by the UNDP. This project aims to help increase CSOs’ capacities to engage in policy-making processes, foster local development, and promote social innovation.

The programme brought together around 55 civil society organisations and activists from Baku, Neftchala, Bilasuvar, Imishli, Qusar and other districts. The sessions were organised in hybrid format.

The participants learned how to collect data, define stakeholders, and develop successful project strategies. They also worked with various databases, discussed issues on data reliability and validity, and analysed real-life case studies. During the programme, the CSOs also received individual mentoring support for their own project ideas.
