‘Access to Justice for Women’ online course to be launched in Eastern Partnership countries
On 8 June, the Council of Europe launched its Human Rights Education for Legal Professionals (HELP) course on Access to Justice for Women. The course aims to support national justice systems in the Eastern Partnership countries in effectively responding to women’s right to access justice without discrimination.
Seven national tutored courses will be implemented in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine, reaching over 140 judges and prosecutors, who will be better equipped to deliver justice to everyone in their societies, in line with Council of Europe gender equality standards.
These courses are organised in the framework of the project ‘Women’s Access to Justice: delivering on the Istanbul Convention and other European gender equality standards’, funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the Council of Europe under its EU-funded Partnership for Good Governance (2019-2021).
